Download KVMS Pro Lite – Free Lightweight CCTV Software for PC
Watch live camera feeds, play back recordings, and control PTZ cameras from your CP Plus DVR, NVR, or IP cameras with KVMS Pro Lite on one Windows PC, without slowing down your system.
What is KVMS Pro Lite?
The lightweight edition of CP Plus’s Central Management System – built for small setups that need clear live view and playback without the weight of the full suite.
KVMS Pro Lite is a free Windows desktop client developed by CP Plus, one of the largest CCTV manufacturers in Asia. It connects your CP Plus DVRs, NVRs and IP cameras to a single PC so you can watch live feeds, review recorded footage and move PTZ cameras from one screen. It is the same software family as the full KVMS Pro, trimmed down to the tools most homes, shops and small offices actually use every day.
Because it drops the heavier modules – alarm linkage, E-Map, local recording plans and multi-user accounts – it launches faster, uses less RAM and runs comfortably on older or lower-powered PCs. If you have a handful of cameras at one location and simply want to see them and check what happened, this is the version CP Plus built for that job.
Who is KVMS Pro Lite for?
Shop owners, home users, small office managers and installers who set up CP Plus systems with fewer than 16 cameras. If you prefer a dedicated desktop app over the DVR’s web interface but don’t need control-room features, KVMS Pro Lite is the right fit. Anyone running a multi-site network, alarm schedules or shared operator accounts should use the full KVMS Pro instead.
How it works
Install the app, create a local login, then add your DVR or NVR by auto-search or by IP address. Your cameras appear in the device tree within seconds. Double-click a channel to open it in the grid, switch to the Playback tab to scrub through recordings by date, and use the PTZ panel to pan, tilt and zoom supported cameras. Snapshots and clip exports save straight to your PC.
How it compares
KVMS Pro Lite fills the same role as Hikvision’s iVMS-4200 Lite or Dahua’s SmartPSS Lite – a manufacturer-specific client for its own hardware. It talks directly to CP Plus device protocols, which is why it feels more responsive than generic third-party viewers, and why it does not support unrelated brands.
Why choose the Lite edition
Connect your home, shop or office cameras, watch live video anytime and manage everything from one place. Simple, reliable and built for everyday monitoring.
Why updates matter
Using an old version of KVMS Pro Lite can slow down your system or leave security gaps. Always install the latest release for better speed, device support and safety.
Two editions, both free
KVMS Pro Lite is light and fast for small setups. Full KVMS Pro is the advanced edition for offices and larger systems. Both come from CP Plus at no cost.
Works fully offline
No cloud, no activation, no telemetry. As long as your PC and DVR share a network, every feature works without internet.
KVMS Pro Lite vs Full Version
Choose the edition that fits your workflow. The Lite edition is ideal for everyday monitoring; the full version adds the tools demanding installations need.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about downloading, installing and using KVMS Pro Lite on your PC.
Is KVMS Pro Lite free to download?
Yes. KVMS Pro Lite is completely free to download and use. CP Plus distributes it at no cost as a companion tool for its CCTV hardware. There is no trial period, no paywalled features and no subscription – no license key is needed.
What is the difference between KVMS Pro Lite and the full KVMS Pro?
Both are free, but they serve different setups.
- KVMS Pro Lite: live view, playback, device management, PTZ control, lower resource use and a simpler interface.
- KVMS Pro Full: up to 64 channels per view, E-Map, alarm management, recording plans via Storage Service, multi-user permissions, two-way audio and video intercom.
Fewer than 16 cameras at one location and no alarms needed? Lite is enough. Multiple sites, alarm schedules or shared operator access? Use the full version.
Is KVMS Pro Lite safe to install on Windows 10 and 11?
Yes. It is developed by CP Plus (CP PLUS International), an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer with products deployed in 50+ countries. The software contains no malware, adware or bundled toolbars. If Windows SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info › Run anyway – that warning appears because a specialised vendor’s signing certificate is less common in Microsoft’s database, not because of a threat. You can verify the signature under the installer’s Properties › Digital Signatures tab.
What are the system requirements?
Minimum: Windows 7/8/10/11, Intel Core i3 or equivalent, 2 GB RAM, 200 MB disk, 1280×720 display and .NET Framework 4.5+. Recommended: Windows 10/11 64-bit, Core i5, 4 GB RAM, a 1080p display and a wired Ethernet connection. If your PC struggles with many streams, switch cameras to Sub Stream.
How do I add a DVR, NVR or IP camera?
Open the Device tab and click Auto Search to find every CP Plus device on your network, then select it and enter the device username (default admin) and password. Or click Add, enter the IP (e.g. 192.168.1.108), port 6036 and the credentials, and click Save. If it shows “Offline”, re-check the IP, port and password and make sure the PC and device are on the same network.
How do I log in to KVMS Pro Lite?
Open the app and enter the username and password you created on first launch. This is the software login – it is separate from your DVR password. If it does not work, confirm caps lock is off and the credentials are typed exactly.
I forgot my KVMS Pro Lite password. How do I reset it?
There is no built-in recovery. Uninstall the app, delete the leftover folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\CP Plus\KVMS Pro Lite, reinstall and create a new admin account, then re-add your devices. This only resets the software password – your DVR, its credentials and all recordings are untouched.
Why does KVMS Pro Lite show a black screen instead of video?
A black screen means the app is connected but the stream is not rendering. Try, in order: right-click the feed and switch to Sub Stream; open the DVR’s IP in a browser to confirm the camera itself works; allow the app through Windows Firewall; power-cycle the DVR for 30 seconds; check the physical cable if only one camera is black; and make sure both the app and DVR firmware are current. If it persists, remove and re-add the device.
How do I fix KVMS Pro Lite not connecting to my DVR?
- Confirm the DVR is powered on and its web interface loads at its IP address.
Check the port is 6036 and the credentials match exactly (case-sensitive).
Allow the app through Windows Firewall and temporarily disable antivirus to test.
For remote access, make sure port 6036 is forwarded and you are using the public IP or DDNS hostname.
Still stuck? Reinstall the app or update the DVR firmware from the CP Plus website.
Can I use KVMS Pro Lite with Hikvision, Dahua or ONVIF cameras?
It is designed for CP Plus and Dahua-protocol devices only – no ONVIF, RTSP or Hikvision support. Some Dahua OEM units may connect, but it is not guaranteed. For Hikvision hardware use iVMS-4200; for mixed-brand systems consider Blue Iris (paid), Milestone XProtect Essential+ (free for 8 cameras) or Agent DVR.
How do I play back and export recorded footage?
Open the Playback tab, choose the channel and date, and click the timeline (green = continuous, yellow = event). Use the scissors icon to mark the start and end of the clip, click Export, choose MP4 (universal) or AVI (larger, higher quality) and pick a save location. For long exports use an external drive.
Can I record automatically with KVMS Pro Lite?
Your DVR or NVR handles automatic recording on its own schedule, and KVMS Pro Lite plays that footage back. Scheduled recording to your PC (Record Plan and Storage Service) is a full-version feature. If you want a second local copy on the PC, install the full KVMS Pro.
Where is the official download link for KVMS Pro Lite?
The official source is the CP Plus website (cpplusworld.com) under Software / Downloads. The download section on this page links directly to that source. Avoid random file hosts, torrents and third-party “downloader” sites that wrap installers – the app is already free.
How do I update KVMS Pro Lite?
There is no auto-update. Download the newest installer from CP Plus or this page, note your device list as a precaution, and run the installer as administrator – it upgrades in place and normally keeps your settings. Check for new versions every few months; CP Plus ships updates alongside new hardware.
Can I still use an old version of KVMS Pro Lite?
You can, but an old version may not recognise newer DVR and camera models and can carry unpatched issues. Updating to the latest release gives better performance, stability and device support.
How do I completely uninstall KVMS Pro Lite?
Go to Settings › Apps (or Control Panel › Programs), find KVMS Pro Lite and click Uninstall. Then delete the leftover folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\CP Plus and any CP Plus folder in C:\Users\[You]\AppData. Uninstalling has no effect on your DVR, cameras or recordings.
Does KVMS Pro Lite need an internet connection?
No. Live view, playback, export and PTZ all work over your local network with no internet. Internet is only required for remote viewing from outside the network, which needs port forwarding or DDNS on the DVR. There is no cloud dependency or online activation.
Does KVMS Pro Lite work on Mac or Linux?
No – it is Windows only. Mac users can run it in a Windows virtual machine (Parallels, VMware Fusion) or use the DVR’s web interface or the iCMOB app. Linux users can use the browser interface or run the app inside VirtualBox.
